Privacy Policy
Last updated:
This policy covers two things: the Print This Recipe for Walmart browser extension, and this website, which renders the printable recipe.
The short version
There are no accounts. The extension reads a Walmart recipe page only when you click its button. The recipe is passed to this website inside the URL fragment, which browsers do not transmit to servers, so recipe contents never reach our hosting and are never stored by us. This site shows third-party advertising, and that advertising involves cookies set by Google, described below. We also use Google Analytics, which sets its own cookies and is configured so that your recipe is never included in what it reports.
The extension
What it reads
When you click the extension's toolbar button on a Walmart recipe page, it reads that
page's visible content to find the recipe title, ingredient list and instructions. It
requests access only to individual recipe pages under
walmart.com/i/recipes/. It cannot read any other website.
What it does not do
- It does not read your Walmart account, order history, cart or payment details.
- It does not modify any page or your cart.
- It does not run in the background or track your browsing.
- It does not send the page contents to us or to any third party.
- It stores nothing on your device between uses.
Where the recipe goes
When you press "Print Recipe", the extension encodes the recipe and opens a page on
this website with that data in the URL fragment — the part after the
#. By the design of the web, browsers never send the fragment to the
server. The recipe is decoded and displayed by JavaScript running in your own browser.
We do not receive it, log it or store it. Closing the tab discards it.
This website
Server logs
Our hosting provider records standard request logs — IP address, timestamp, requested page, browser user agent — as part of serving and protecting the site. These logs are retained by the provider for a limited period and are not used to build profiles of visitors. As explained above, the recipe itself does not appear in them.
Advertising
We use Google AdSense to show ads on the printable recipe page. Ads are hidden when you print, so they do not appear on paper.
Google's advertising tag reports the address of the page it runs on. Because the page removes your recipe from the address before that tag loads, the recipe is not part of what is sent — ad requests carry the page address only.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- You can opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info/choices.
Google's own handling of data from sites that use its services is described in Google's privacy & terms.
Visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland
We do not currently show a cookie consent banner. Google Analytics runs on all visits and sets its own cookies, as described above.
If you would prefer not to be measured, you can use Google's opt-out browser add-on or your browser's tracking protection, both of which take effect immediately and without needing to ask us.
Google AdSense is enabled on this site. Google requires a certified consent tool (CMP) before personalized advertising is served to visitors in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland. Consent messages and cookie preferences for these regions are managed via Google's integrated CMP.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics (GA4) to count visits and see which pages get used. It sets cookies in your browser and reports to Google, which processes that data on our behalf. What it reports includes the page address, an approximate location derived from your IP address, and basic device and browser information.
It never reports your recipe. The recipe arrives in the fragment of
the printable page's address — the part after the # — and the page
removes it from the address bar before any Google tag runs. Analytics is also
configured to report a generic page name rather than the recipe's title. Neither the
recipe nor its name is included in what we or Google receive.
You can opt out of Google Analytics on every site with Google's opt-out browser add-on, or by using your browser's tracking protection. Google's handling of this data is described in Google's privacy policy.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Your choices
Uninstalling the extension removes its access immediately. Because we hold no account and no stored recipes, there is no personal data of yours for us to export or delete — requests about advertising data should go to Google using the links above.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
